Melt Pressure Transducers operate on the proven principle of strain gauge technology. The pressure is transferred from the measuring diaphragm (which is flush with the melt channel) via a capillary system to a second diaphragm. The capillary system is filled either with mercury or with a mercury-free medium. The second diaphragm is fitted with a strain gauge. Using the linear change in resistance in relation to deflection, an electric output signal is provided. The special membrane technology guarantees a very long operating life, even under the toughest conditions.
The anti-adhesion coating reduces the risk of damage caused by frozen plastic melts.
