Magnesium Oxide Insulated Thermocouple Assemblies

We offer a large variety of Magnesium Oxide insulated thermocouples, commonly referred to as MgO thermocouples. They are used in a variety of process and laboratory applications as their many desirable characteristics make them a good choice for general and special purpose use. They are available in all thermocouple element types, numerous sheath diameters and materials. Their ruggedness and moderately high temperature characteristics make these thermocouples a popular choice for a multitude of temperature measuring applications.

Exposed Junction Thermocouple are typically used in open air heating applications.  The exposed junction offers quicker responding temperature sensing.  Many configurations are available.  The MGO Thermocouple with fixed bushing and female jack is one of many options.

Sheath Options: Compression fittings, welded bushings, flanges, bayonet fittings and weld pad mountings, sheath bends and Teflon® coating. (Teflon® is a Trade name of E.I. DuPont)

Sheath Materials:
304, 310, 316, 446 Stainless Steel, Inconel 600, Nicrobell B & C, H-2300

Sheath Diameters:

Assembly Options: Standard or miniature size plugs and jacks, choice of 8 connecting head materials, high temperature transition fittings, in-line same size transitions, leadwire with several choices of insulation, stranded or solid conductors, and leads with metal overbraid or in flexible armor.
